281-bed, full-service, non-profit community hospital offering comprehensive medical, surgical and therapeutic services.
• Provide outstanding, patient-centered care to medical and telemetry patients.
• Demonstrate excellent critical thinking and keen prioritization skills combined with clinical proficiency, compassion and professionalism.
• Implement total patient care through collaboration with healthcare team members; routinely carry a patient load of 5-7 medical/telemetry patients presenting diverse medical conditions, including cerebrovascular disorders; cardiac, renal, and hepatic disease/failure; pneumonia and respiratory failure; and schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other psychological disorders.
• Assist with or implement emergency measures for adverse developments in patient condition.
• Act as patient advocate; assess patient status and notify physician of changes in clinical condition.
• Serve as charge nurse, supervising up to seven RN’s and five CNA’s; evaluate staffing requirements; make patient assignments; organize unit activities on a 36-bed medical/telemetry unit.
• Demonstrate commitment to furthering nursing knowledge by attending multiple continuing education classes, including: Basic EKG, Wound/Skin Care, Orthopedics, Patient Crisis, Charge Nurse, AIDS/HIV, FEMA Incident Management/Command Systems, and Geriatrics.
